Éter by James Menendez ("Éter," "I," "me") operates eterbyjamesmenendez.com. This policy explains what information I collect through this website, how I use it, and your choices.

Information I collect

Information you give me: your name, email address, phone number, restaurant or household name and town, and what you write in the contact form, newsletter signup, or emails to me, such as consulting needs, event details, or dietary restrictions and allergies. Information collected automatically: the site is hosted by Squarespace, which collects technical data such as IP address, browser type, pages visited and referring site, using cookies and similar technologies, to run the site and provide analytics. Payment information: if you buy something, payment is handled by a payment processor such as PayPal, Stripe or Squarespace Payments. I do not store full card numbers.

How I use information

To reply to your inquiries and provide the products or services you ask about. To send the newsletter and Pinch beta updates, only if you signed up; you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in each email. To process payments and deliver purchases. To keep the site working and understand how it is used. To follow legal obligations. If you give me allergy or dietary information, I use it only to prepare safe food for you.

Who I share it with

I do not sell your personal information. I share it only with service providers that help run my business, such as Squarespace (website, forms, newsletter), Google (email and file storage), email tools and payment processors, and only as needed for them to do their work. I may also share information if the law requires it.

Cookies

The site uses cookies for basic function and analytics. You can control cookies in your browser settings.

How long I keep it

I keep contact and client records as long as needed for the purposes above and for legal, tax and accounting reasons, then delete or anonymize them.

Your choices and rights

You can ask me to access, correct or delete the personal information I hold about you, or remove you from the newsletter, by emailing eterbyjames@gmail.com. Depending on where you live, such as California or other states with privacy laws, you may have additional rights, and I will honor valid requests as the law requires.

Security and children

I use reasonable safeguards, but no website or email is completely secure. This site is not directed to children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect their information.

Pinch

If you sign up for the Pinch beta, I use the information you give me only to contact you about Pinch. The Pinch app has its own privacy policy and terms, which apply once you create an account.
